SARAH CAWOOD

TV Presenter, Broadcaster & Media Personality.

Sarah Cawood is a 53-year-old broadcaster who first burst onto our screens on Nickelodeon before being headhunted to co-host the cultural phenomenon The Girlie Show alongside Sara Cox in 1996.

Over the next 15 years, she became a familiar face on British television, presenting shows including MTV’s Singled Out, Live & Kicking, The National Lottery Jetset and the iconic Top of the Pops.

In 2012, after getting married and welcoming her first child, Sarah embraced life as a stay-at-home mum. However, broadcasting never left her bloodstream. She continues to appear on “talking heads” shows, writes, and works as an announcer on Challenge TV.

A candid Instagram post about how deeply she missed presenting unexpectedly went viral, resonating particularly with midlife women. Sarah’s honesty, humour, and refusal to curate a picture-perfect persona have helped her build a warm and highly engaged online community. Her USP is simple: life is real, messy, imperfect; and she’s never been afraid to show that she is, too.

Two years ago, a routine mammogram led to the discovery of stage 1, grade 1 HER2-positive breast cancer. The experience has been life-changing in many positive ways, inspiring Sarah to advocate for awareness and support within the breast cancer community while prioritising her own health and wellbeing.

Sarah lives in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, where her followers join her daily for her much-loved, no-nonsense “school run chats” on Instagram—part laughter, part chaos, always honest.
