MONTY PANESAR

Legendary cricketer & first Sikh ever to play for England.

Monty played 50 Tests for England and took 167 Test wickets. One of his finest moments was with the bat at Cardiff when England managed to draw the Test match v Australia. It was regarded as one the greatest escapes in British sporting history. He is a two times Ashes winner and won the test series in India with England for the first in 28 years. 

Monty is now a graduate in MA International sports journalism, as he wants to go on to become a Sports broadcast Journalist.

PILGRIMAGE: THE ROAD TO THE SCOTTISH ISLES (BBC2, 3 episodes)

Seven well known personalities with differing faiths and beliefs, put on their backpacks and waterproofs and travel over 1600km on foot, by road and sea, to learn about a key figure in early British Christianity, St Columba:  an Irish monk born 1500 years ago who helped spread the faith from Ireland to Scotland. 

Other participants include interior designer Laurence Lewellyn-Bowen & TV personality Nick Hewer.
